Diversity and inclusion
Everyone is equal at DVDW and offers unique added value. Regardless of and thanks to origin, religion, gender, orientation, culture, ethnicity and age. DVDW is committed to an inclusive working environment in which every colleague can feel valued and respected and is able to contribute.
We are an informal, open organisation where individuals have the space to be themselves and to develop and grow to their full potential (e.g. with the help of our own DVDW Academy). We think this is the most normal thing in the world. Diversity in experiences and perspectives enriches our corporate culture and our services. This is why we value diversity. Because we know that differences between colleagues produce not only more, but also stronger ideas. And that in turn leads to better solutions and services, which help our clients and relations.
We do not want to simply tick the diversity and inclusiveness box by means of this declaration, but we actually these values into practice in the workplace, by promoting internal discussion about diversity and inclusiveness and actively propagate these ideals to the outside world. In this context, DVDW also endorses the declaration of intent 'Diversity within the legal profession' as well as the diversity and inclusion declaration of the Dutch Bar Association.
DVDW is committed to the career development of women demonstrating talent, ambition and passion. Currently, half of the employees starting at DVDW are women. Among equity partners, this was 33% on 1 January 2020. This ratio puts DVDW at the forefront of the legal profession and sets us apart. Our male-female ratio is the result of a corporate culture in which female talents are also offered the facilities, support, encouragement and opportunities to become partners. This remains a spearhead and we expect further developments in this area in the future.
